Specifying column attributes in Do-It-Yourself tables

In a Do-It-Yourself table, each column is defined to be one of four column types: Input, Subtotal, GRP Calculation, or Custom Calculation. For each column type, you can specify the column attributes.

Specifying input column attributes

If you are editing a column in a Do-It-Yourself table whose Calculation Type is Input, you can specify the attributes of the column.

  1. Click in the column. From the Table Tools tab, click DIY and Edit |Column.
  2. In the Column Calculation dialog, in the Calculation Type section, select the Input radio button.
  3. From the Column Type drop-down, select either Numeric or Alphanumeric.
  4. In the Column Visibility section, select a radio button indicating when the column is to be visible. For more details, see Specifying visibility for a Do-It-Yourself table column.
  5. Click OK.

The Input column attributes are specified.

Specifying subtotal column attributes

If you are editing a column in a Do-It-Yourself table whose Calculation Type is Subtotal, you can specify the attributes of the column.

  1. Click in the column. From the Table Tools tab, click DIY and Edit |Column.
  2. In the Column Calculation dialog, in the Calculation Type section, select the Subtotal radio button.
  3. From the Select the columns to sum list, select the columns to include in the subtotal. The column that you are positioned in does not appear in this list.
  4. In the Column Visibility section, select a radio button indicating when the column is to be visible. For more details, see Specifying visibility for a Do-It-Yourself table column.

  5. Click OK.

The Subtotal column attributes are specified.

Specifying GRP Calculation column attributes

If you are editing a column in a Do-It-Yourself table whose Calculation Type is GRP Calculation, you can specify the attributes of the column.

  1. Click in the column. From the Table Tools tab, click DIY and Edit |Column.
  2. In the Column Calculation dialog, in the Calculation Type section, select the GRP Calculation radio button.
  3. Specify the column attributes by completing the fields that appear in the Column Calculation dialog.
  4. In the Column Visibility section, select a radio button indicating when the column is to be visible. For more details, see Specifying visibility for a Do-It-Yourself table column.
  5. Click OK.

The GRP Calculation column attributes are specified.

Specifying custom calculation column attributes

If you are editing a column in a Do-It-Yourself table whose Calculation Type is Custom Calculation, you can specify the attributes of the column.

  1. Click in the column. From the Table Tools tab, click DIY and Edit |Column.
  2. In the Column Calculation dialog, in the Calculation Type section, select the Custom Calculation radio button.
  3. Select the Unreconciled Difference Column check box to convert this column into an unreconciled difference column.
  4. In the Custom Calculation field, type the calculation that you want to use. A valid calculation will be highlighted in green, and an invalid calculation will be highlighted in red.

    Note: If you hover over the Custom Calculation field, a tooltip appears that displays the result of the calculation.

  5. In the Column Visibility section, select a radio button indicating when the column is to be visible. For more details, see Specifying visibility for a Do-It-Yourself table column.

  6. Click OK.

The Custom Calculation column attributes are specified.
