Properties for Mapping Number

Type a map number. Map numbers can be up to 40 digits and alphanumeric. Map numbers must be unique and cannot be duplicated.

Select a from the following behavior options: 

Type a description for the map number. This description can be linked to cells in CaseView.

Click to enter an extended description for the map number. This description does not appear on the printed document. It is available for linking to alphanumeric cells in CaseView documents using the Linkage dialog.

Select Debit or Credit as the normal sign for the map number if applicable. Select Credit if the account is normally a credit balance. If the account has a debit balance, then the amount is displayed or printed with brackets. Select Debit if the account is normally a debit balance. When selected, if the account has a credit balance, the amount is displayed or printed with brackets.

Select the appropriate ratio class. Ratio classes are used in conducting analytical review and in generating ratios. They are also useful in the preparation of the summary of unadjusted errors document. This option is available for normal behavior map numbers.

Select the method to display the flip accounts. See Setting flips in the mapping/group database for details on each flip type.

Select the map number to be used if the account is flipped.

Type or select the unit of measure. To create or modify units of measure codes, select Tools | Options | Lists and then click the Units tab.

If a GIFI number has not been automatically entered, type or select the applicable GIFI number for the account. Click the look-up button (or press F8) to display the Select GIFI Number. Once the GIFI number is located, click the Select button to input the number in the Account setup.

Recommendation

• Although mapping is not necessary to use the GIFI, using the mapping number database will cut a lot of work. For example, if this account is assigned to a map number and the mapping numbers have been assigned to codes in the GIFI numbers database, then the GIFI codes can be automatically assigned to all accounts in the chart of accounts with one button click.

L/S

Select a leadsheet number to have this map number appear on the selected leadsheet. When searching through the list of available leadsheets, click the L/S heading to view the list in leadsheet number order or click the Name heading to view the list of leadsheets by leadsheet description.

L/S (Flip)

Select the Leadsheet to be used if the account is flipped.

Group 2-10

Select a group number from the selected grouping in order to have the map number appear on the grouping schedule. When searching through the list of available groupings, click the Group heading to view the list in group number order or click the Name heading to view the list of group numbers by group number description.

Group 2-10 (Flip)

Select the group to be used if the account is flipped.

Select to print a currency symbol before the balance.

Select to start a new page as of this point. Useful if preparing schedules for a statement. Do not use this option when changing the type of statement, for example, from Balance Sheet to Income Statement. Working Papers automatically inserts a page break when changing the statement type.

Select to underline the selected balance. If applicable, choose single to print a single underline and double to print a double underline. Note: Underlines for totals and subtotal lines are added in the structures. For more information on structures, see Defining Structures.

Select from the following options:

• N/A - no printing feature required.
• Credit - will only print if the balance is a credit.
• Debit - will only print if the balance is a debit.
• Header - will print as a header on every page.
• Justify - will center text.
• Skip - will not print.

Select an accumulator level if this line in the report is to total or subtotal preceding lines. Available options include: 

Select a statement of cash flow map account number (a map account number with the format S##). With this statement of cash flow number intact, all credit amounts for the balance sheet, income statement and performance measures map account will automatically update the statement of cash flow map account.
