Assigning Map Numbers to Accounts

Account mapping ensures ultimate efficiency in completing financial statements in CaseView. If account linkage to CaseView is completed using universal map numbers common to all clients, performing account mapping virtually ensures finished financial statements requiring a minimum amount of modification.

Map numbers contain identical fields to account numbers and can be used to complete account properties when entering a client's chart of accounts in the Working Trial Balance.

(Optional) Set up flips in the mapping and grouping database. >>How Do I ?

  1. On the Account tab, in the Assign group, click Assign Mappings to open the Assign Mapping Numbers dialog. See Assign Mapping Numbers, Assign Groupings and Assign Tax Export Codes Dialog for more information.
  2. In the Unmapped Accounts pane, select the account(s) you want to assign to a map number. To show current year or prior year balances or extended descriptions for the accounts, right-click and then select the option to display.
  3. In the Mapping Numbers pane, select the map number you want to assign the accounts to.
  4. Click Map.
  5. Click Apply to save the changes to the working trial balance without closing this dialog.
  6. Click OK to close the dialog.

Map numbers are assigned to applicable accounts. Assigned accounts will display a plus button (). If a parent map number (e.g. 111) has child map numbers assigned to it (e.g. 111.100 and 111.200), the balance of the parent map number will be a sum of the balances of the child map numbers.

Tip : You can choose to have the account mapping feature overwrite all existing account properties with the properties of the map number or overwrite blank account properties only.>>How Do I ?
