Converting Local Map Numbers to those used in a Template

As you copy the template into the local file, the local file's map numbers will be replaced, as applicable, with the numbers and properties of the map numbers found in the template file.

Procedures

From the Mapping Copy Options dialog, click Remap.
Select the existing map number in the Destination File Mapping Numbers window.
Select the new map number in the Source File Mapping Numbers window.
Click Assign.
Click Apply to save the mappings without closing this dialog. If you are linking a large local database to a large template, it is wise to save often.

Results

Local Map Numbers are assigned to template numbers. During future copy components procedures, this process will only have to be performed again if there have been changes to the template mapping structure.
