Separating Large Currency Values with a Comma

  1. Double-click the cell.
  2. Click the Numeric tab.
  3. Select Digit Grouping Symbol. If your computer system defaults are set to have currency separated by commas, select default. If not, type in "," in the dropdown box.

Any other symbol, such as a space or a "." (decimal place) can be typed into the drop-down list to act as currency separator.

Tip: If the position of the grouping symbol is incorrect, change the specifications in the Regional Settings of the Windows Control Panel. Click the Currency tab and modify the settings in the Digit grouping symbol and Number of digits in group boxes.
