Exporting Financial Statement Notes Separate from a GIFI File

Financial statement notes may be exported from CaseView at a separate time from the GIFI balances. This provides the option to firms of making adjustments to GIFI balances in tax software while still finalizing the financial statement notes in CaseView.

To export only the notes

1. Launch CaseView and ensure that financial statement notes have been set up
2. Each note or group of notes must be formatted as a section and the Include in Export check box must be selected on the Section tab of the Section dialog.
3. Return to Working Papers and click Engagement | Export | GIFI.
4. Click the box beside Export notes to financial statements (from CaseView) only. When this option is selected all other check boxes are disabled.

Working Papers exports the GIFI header and notes for financial statements only. No GIFI balances are included.
