Group By Tab - New View Definition Dialog

Use this tab to group items in the view by properties. For example, you could group a view by the language property to make it easy to sort items for multiple country templates. You could also sort that grouping more specifically by establishing a second sort level by country to be able to find items easily that are country specific within that language grouping, such as items in English that pertain to the United Kingdom but not to the United States or Australia.

Group items by

Select the property for the top-level grouping from the drop-down list of properties. Select whether you want top-level groups to display in ascending or descending order.

Expanded

When selected, the level group level will display as open in the tree and with all the items under it listed.

Then by

If desired, select up to three more levels of properties to group the view by and indicate whether each of these groups should display in ascending or descending order.

Clear All

Click to remove all existing groupings.

Show Group Title

When selected, the group's title will display as Field name: Value, for example Section Label: Equity instead of just displaying the value of the field, "Equity".
