KLI Create Custom Property Dialog

Use this dialog to create a new custom property.

Name

Enter the database name for the custom property. This name is used internally by scripting and other programming functions.

Display Name

Enter a name to be displayed in the Knowledge Library Index for this property. This name displays on the column heading when this custom property is displayed in the knowledge Library Index.

Type

Select the type of information allowed for this custom property. If selecting the dropdown list, a second section of the dialog displays to allow you to create the list. For dropdowns, fill in the following information:

Name

Enter a database name for the member of the list. This name is used internally by the database to identify this property value.

Display Name

Enter the name that displays in the dropdown list the user sees.

Use the Add and Delete buttons to add and remove items from the list. The order of the items in the list can be changed by selecting the item and using the images\kli_up_button_shg.gif and images\kli_down_button_shg.gif buttons to move it up or down the list.

Length

Specify a maximum length for the property.

Owner

Displays the ownership of the custom property. Ownership is used to determine who can modify or delete the custom property.

Property values modifiable by everyone

Select if you want all users to be able to enter values into the custom property field in the Knowledge Library Index. If unselected, only members of the team that owns the property and the owner of the actual record itself can modify the custom property. For example, if a custom property is a drop-down list, only team members can select a new item from the drop-down list when this option is not selected.
