Working with Knowledge Library Entries in the KL Index

To open a Knowledge Library entry, select it on the left hand pane tree listing. Right click and select Launch. The entry can be edited as desired as long as the user has appropriate permissions and the file is not set to read only.

Notes

Never use Windows Explorer to replace library files (e.g. copy & paste) that are controlled by the Knowledge Library Index as it can cause database corruption. If library files require modification, they should be modified in CaseView and saved.
When a Knowledge Library file is saved after being launched from the Knowledge Library Index, the version update dialog appears allowing the current user to modify the version number. Upon clicking the OK button, the new version numbers entered are used to update the version field in the database.
Users can modify the version number of the record only if they own the record.
