Base Unit Dialog

The first time CaseView is launched after installation, this dialog will appear allowing users to select the base unit for measurements. If the wrong option is selected, this setting may be changed by navigating to the Tools tab, in the Utilities group, click Options, and click the Measurements tab.

Setting the program to use metric units

Select this radio button to use the metric system throughout CaseView.

Setting the program to use imperial units

Select this radio button to use the Imperial (or U.S.) measurement system.

Notes

If users do not have write access to the unit of measurement settings file "cvwin.ini", CaseView will ask the user to choose a unit of measurement again. To set write access to this file, you must change the permission settings under the Security tab in Folder Properties. This folder is hidden by default and can be shown by selecting to show hidden items under the View tab in Folder Options. The folder path is the following:

• For Windows 8, Windows 7 or Vista

  C:\ProgramData\CaseWare\Working Papers\20XX\CaseView

• For Windows XP

  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CaseWare\Working Papers\20XX\CaseView
