Applying or Removing Font Attributes

  1. Drag the pointer to select the text you want to change.
  2. On the Home tab, in the Font group, click to display the Font dialog.
  3. Follow the chart below to apply changes. The chart also lists the buttons on the Home tab that can be used to apply text effects.

Formatting

In the Font dialog

On the Home tab

Bold

In the Font Style box, select Bold.

Italics

In the Font Style box, select Italics.

Underline

Under Effects, select Underline.

Superscript

Under Effects, select Superscript.

Subscript

Under Effects, select Subscript.

Font Type

In the Font box, select the name of the font to apply.

Font Color

In the Color box, select the color you want from the 20 defined colors or click the Other button to create a custom color.

After selecting a predefined color, clicking the other button opens the custom color dialog and displays the Red/ Green/ Blue values for the chosen color. This can be useful for exactly matching colors between documents or sections of a document.

 

Font Size

In the Font box, select the name of the font to apply.
