About Inserted Objects

To insert an object, place the insertion point at the desired location and click Insert | Object. An inserted object can be of any file type. Common file types such as .PDF, .XLS, .DOC, etc. are inserted as embedded objects where the contents of the file are visible in CaseView. Unknown or less common file types may appear as file objects which clients can open from within CaseView to launch the appropriate application.

Right-click on either object to open the associated application and make modifications. CaseView determines the appropriate application from the Windows file type association table, allowing any file type to be inserted as an object.
