Controlling Knowledge Library Links Using Events
It is possible to assign events to cells in a CaseView document that automatically insert, update, or delete Knowledge Library Links.
-
Create a cell or double-click a cell to open the Edit Cell dialog.
When creating a cell to launch a Knowledge Library event, it is recommended the cell number assigned to the event is not the same as any cell number in the Knowledge Library content being inserted.
- Select the Events tab.
-
Click Add.
- In the Action box, select one of the following:
-
If applicable, specify the path and name of the Knowledge Library Link document in the Filename box.
The filename specified can also be entered as a relative link such as 'prgdir()+"library\notes.cvw"', which creates a Knowledge Library link with the following calculation for the file name prgdir()+library\notes.cvw (the current program directory, in a subdirectory called library, locate a library document called notes).
- If applicable, enter the Section Label in quotations in the Section Label box.
- Click OK.
Notes
- Section labels are case-sensitive and must be entered in quotations.
- When a User in the Form Mode clicks on the cell, the Knowledge Library Link is automatically inserted into the current document.
- Click Undoable to allow users to undo the action after it has been performed. Events in files that are converted from earlier versions of CaseView are NOT undoable by default.
