Copying Text and Cells Between Documents

  1. Open the file that contains the information you want to copy.
  2. Select the desired text.
  3. On the Home tab, click Copy, or press Ctrl+C.
  4. In Working Papers or Time, from the Document Manager, open the client file containing the CaseView document that is to receive the copied selection. A second instance of CaseView opens to hold the second client file.
  5. Switch to Design Mode.
  6. Place the cursor where the text is to be inserted.
  7. On the Home tab, click Paste, or press Ctrl+V. CaseView inserts the selection – including original styles and fonts - from the other file into the current open file.

Notes

  • Information copied from an external text editor (such as Microsoft Word) will adopt the destination font properties when pasted into CaseView, such as style. Information copied from within CaseView and pasted to another part of the same document, or a new CaseView document, will retain its original font settings.
  • CaseView supports copying and pasting Unicode text. When copying Unicode text in enable editing mode, there is a possibility that the pasted text will display as "???" depending on your regional settings. The solution to this would be to use the Paste Special Unformatted Text command option.
