CaseView Repository

The CaseView Repository reduces the size of your files by storing commonly used images and scripts in a single location. You can source the images and scripts from the repository and add them to multiple documents, rather than duplicating them for each applicable document.

To create a CaseView Repository:

  1. Ensure you are working in Design Mode.
  2. On the ribbon, click Tools | Repository | Manage....
  3. In the Manage Repository dialog, click Add....
  4. In the Add Repository dialog, click Browse... to use an existing CaseView document as the repository, or complete the fields as required to add a new repository.

    Option Description

    Identifier

The name of the repository. The name must be unique and can contain a maximum of 8 alphanumeric characters.

Note: The identifier cannot contain special characters.

    Version

The version number of the document (for use in managing content updates).

    Description

A description of the document and the repository content it contains.

    Filename

The file name of the CaseView document that the repository is based on.

Leave the Filename field blank if you want to create a new CaseView document and add images and scripts to it afterward.

The CaseView document is added as a repository. Repeat this process to add more repositories or click Modify... to change an existing repository.

Associate your document with a repository

Before you can begin sourcing repository content into your document, you must first associate your document with the applicable repository.

To associate a document with a repository:

  1. Ensure you are working in Design Mode.
  2. On the ribbon, click Document | Settings | Repository.
  3. Click Add. Select the applicable repository from the list, then click OK.

The document is associated with the repository. You can now source repository content into the document from Tools | Images, or by adding an Execute Script action event with the repository script.
