Horizontal Ruler

The horizontal ruler displays at the top of the screen and is primarily used in the creation and manipulation of tab stop markers.

The Show Ruler command displays the horizontal ruler. Group tabs are those tabs markers with a red box around them. Column markers are those markers that display as a grey bar. You can edit column positioning in the Form Mode by dragging the group tab markers or the grey column borders to the desired location. CaseView's default is to have this turned on.

In the Form Mode with editing enabled, the ruler also shows permissions in table squares. Where the section includes one or more table rows, when the cursor is placed on a certain row of the table, the blue bar(s) show in the ruler window to indicate the table squares that have permissions. The blue bars change as the user moves the cursor from row to row – as different permissions apply.

In order to use this functionality, the "Enable indicator bar if permitted" check box must be checked in the Document Security tab.
