Re-enable Connector
If you've disabled Connector on your workstation, or Connector is not displaying in the Add-ins menu, you can re-enable it by completing the following procedure.
To re-enable Connector from Word and Excel:
- Open Word or Excel, then click File | Options.
- In the Options dialog, click Add-ins in the left-hand menu.
- At the bottom of the Add-ins pane, click the Manage: drop-down menu and select Disabled Items. Click Go....
- In the Disabled Items dialog, click Caseware Connector, then click Enable. Click Close.
- Click the Manage: drop-down menu again, then select COM Add-Ins. Click Go....
- In the COM Add-ins dialog, select Caseware Connector, then click OK.
Connector displays in the Add-ins menu. If Connector fails to display, restart Word or Excel. If Connector still fails to display, complete the following procedure.
To re-enable Connector from the Windows registry:
- From the Windows Start menu, under Windows Administrative Tools, click Registry Editor. You can also search regedit to locate the application.

Navigate to the location provided below for your version of Microsoft Office.
Microsoft Office (64-bit)
- Excel: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\CWAddIn.CWExcelAddIn.1
- Word: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins\CWAddIn.CWWordAddIn.1
Microsoft Office (32-bit)
- Excel: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\CWAddIn.CWExcelAddIn.1
- Word: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins\CWAddIn.CWWordAddIn.1
- Right-click the LoadBehavior value and click Modify.... Set the Value data to 2 and click OK.
- Open Word or Excel and File | Options.
- In the Options dialog, click Add-ins in the left-hand menu.
- At the bottom of the Add-ins pane, click the Manage: drop-down menu and select COM Add-ins. Click Go....
- In the COM Add-ins dialog, select Caseware Connector, then click OK.
Connector displays in the Add-ins menu.
