Financial Statement Areas Worksheet Menus

Document Menu

Item Description

Generate

Populates the worksheet based on the grouping and options selected. This option is not available if the firm author has disabled regeneration of the Financial Statement Areas Worksheet.

Refresh

Updates the planning balances from the current trial balance.

Change Assertions...

Enables editing of the assertions assigned to a financial statement area, on the financial statement area (FSA) item your cursor is currently on. A dialog box opens allowing selection of multiple assertions.

Insert Business Cycle...

Enables editing of the business cycle assigned to a financial statement area, on the FSA item your cursor is currently on. A dialog box opens allowing selection of multiple business cycles.

Insert New Item

Inserts a new line for input for additional items. New line will be added under where your cursor is currently on. New items can be created for any items that do not appear in your trial balance.

Delete Item

Deletes an item that was previously inserted through the Insert New Item. The cursor must be on the line to delete, prior to using this menu.

Hide Item

Hides an FSA item. This may be used where your mapping structure results in items appearing that are included in another mapping level.

Sort

Items can be sorted to the desired order.

Insert New Reference...

Add reference(s) to document(s) where work is performed. Cursor must be on the FSA item to add the reference to.

Delete References...

Delete references to a document associated with the FSA item.

New Risk

Opens the New Risk dialog to document risks identified throughout the audit. This menu item is available only if the firm author has enabled the creation of new risks.

Edit Risk

Edits an existing risk. Cursor must be on the risk factor that you want to edit to use this menu. This menu item is available only if the firm author has enabled the creation of new risks.

Delete Risk

Deletes an existing risk. Cursor must be on the risk factor that you want to delete to use this menu. This menu item is available only if the firm author has enabled the creation of new risks.

New Control

Opens the New Control dialog to document controls identified throughout the audit. This menu item is available only if the firm author has enabled the creation of new controls.

New Reportable Item Opens the New Reportable Item dialog to add a new identified reportable item. This menu item is available only if the firm author has enabled the creation of new reportable items.

Apply Document Prerequisites

If selected, will implement the document prerequisites specified by the firm. This option is selected by default.

Areas Menu

The Areas menu enables you to do the following:

  • Display or hide the Risk Report, which is located at the top of the Financial Statement Areas Worksheet.
  • Display or hide columns in the Financial Statement Areas Worksheet. This makes it easier to print the Worksheet. See Worksheet Columns for more information.

Options Menu

The Options menu includes the following items:

Item Description

Content Library Path

Defines the path where the content library is located.

Display Completion Details

Display completion details at the top of the document. Note that this will not turn off the completion details from printing.

Display Zero Balances Displas or hide financial statement area items with zero balances.

Display Document Guidance

Display detailed instructions provided by the author for completing the document appearing at the top of the document.

Display Non-Material Items

Displays all non-material financial statement areas. Financial statement items are considered material if the Materiality assessment check box is selected.

Display Hidden Items

Displays all rows generated from the grouping including hidden rows. This allows users to ensure that a row has not been inadvertently hidden.

Display All Assertion Rows

Displays rows below each financial statement area for each individual assertion. Additional attributes for each assertion are displayed.

Display Interactive Guidance

Display instructions that indicate the next step to take when working with this document. These instructions appear at the top of the document in a status bar located just below the function buttons. This menu item is enabled only if instructions exist for the current document status.

Print Risks Prints the mini-risk report.

Print Firm Name in Footer

Prints firm name in the footer as defined in the firm settings if the firm author has set to show the firm name. See Firm Information.

Print Firm Logo in Footer

Prints firm logo in the footer as defined in the firm settings if the firm author has set to show the firm logo. See Firm Information.

Print Current Date/Time in Footer

Print the current date and time in the footer of each page of the document. The date and time format are as set in your Windows regional settings.

Print Client Path in Footer

Prints the client path in the footer of each page of the document.

Highlight External Cells

Highlights all externally linked cells in the document in red.

For the firm author, a report is opened in your web browser that displays each externally linked cell, along with the group, form, and ID of the CaseView database entry to which the cell is linked. This enables the firm author to easily track values that are written to the database and retained on an update or year-end close.

Reapply Styles

Changes the document fonts to the character set in use on your computer. This makes it possible to type information in both English and one other language that uses non-Western characters.

Risk Report View

Displays the type of mini risk report to be displayed at the top of the Financial Statement Areas worksheet. Select Risks Identified to list all entity level risks and all risks that have the Financial Statement Areas worksheet as the source, or select Risks Addressed to list the entity level risks only.
