Create lists

You can better organize content in a document by converting paragraphs to bullet or number lists. Select from several pre-formatted bullet and number styles, or create custom styles to personalize your documents.

To create a bullet list:

  1. Place your cursor in a blank paragraph, or select the paragraphs in the document that you want to convert to a bullet list.
  2. On the ribbon, click Home | Bullets.

The paragraph(s) are converted into a bullet list. To add a new bullet to the list, simply press Enter on your keyboard while on a bullet list line. If you want to customize the bullet style, click the Bullets drop-down menu and select Bullets Library.

To create a number list:

  1. Place your cursor in a blank paragraph, or select the paragraphs in the document that you want to convert to a number list.
  2. On the ribbon, click Home | Numbering.

The paragraph(s) are converted into a number list. To add a new number to the list, simply press Enter on your keyboard while on a number list line. If you want to customize the number style, click the Numbering drop-down menu and select a style from the list.

Notes:

  • If a numbered list includes a paragraph with a skip condition, then when the paragraph is skipped the number displays in blue. In addition, if the skip condition is met and the paragraph is skipped, CaseView automatically renumbers the remaining items in the list.
  • If you insert a bullet or standard paragraph between the paragraphs of a numbered list, the numbering will continue on the following paragraph. If required, you can also reset the numbering by right-clicking the applicable paragraph and selecting Restart Numbering.

Create a custom list

You can create custom lists with varying styles at each level, for up to nine levels. To create a custom list, on the ribbon, click Home | Multilevel List.
