Launch Database Browse Action

Event Function: LaunchBrowse

The Launch Database Browse action opens a selected database browse file.

Using the Events tab

Under Enter Example

Run Skip Condition

If desired, enter skip conditions for the event. When the "Run Skip Condition" is evaluated to be true, the action is not performed.

Browse Name

The full name of the Browse Definition file

"c:\Program Files\Caseware\data\simple\simple.bdf"

Position

A selection for the position

"Floating"

Filter

The name of the filter

"name = "LS""

Syntax (if entering it in the Equation bar)

ACTION("LaunchBrowse", expr1, expr2, expr3)

Where

expr1 = entry under Browse Name

expr2 = entry under Position

expr3 = entry under Filter

How the example will appear in the Equation bar

ACTION("LaunchBrowse", "c:\Program Files\Caseware\data\simple\simple.bdf", "Floating", "name = "LS"")

Notes

  • The launch database browse event provides an automatic a total for any numeric balance columns in the browse if the totals button is checked in the edit browse dialog.
