Other shortcut menu

The Other shortcut menu provides convenient access to operations on cells in a table.

When you right-click on a numeric cell, description cell, or Do-It-Yourself table heading cell in a financial statement area and select Other, or select a block of these cells, right-click, and select Other, the shortcut menu that appears contains the following options:

Field Description
Edit Cell (or Block Cell Edit) Display the CaseView Edit Cell dialog. In the Cash Flow Worksheet, you can also open this dialog by double-clicking on a cell.
Renumber Cell (or Block Renumber Cells) Display the CaseView Renumber Cell dialog. This is not available if a combination of numeric and description cells has been selected, or if Do-It-Yourself heading cells have been selected.
Select Font Display the Font dialog, in which you can select the font, font style, point size, and effects. This is not available if multiple cells have been selected.
Calculation Tool Display the Calculation Tool dialog. This dialog displays the calculation for the cell and lists the cells that are dependent on this calculation.
Set Cell Group (or Block Set Cell Group) Select the group for this cell or block of cells. For more information on cell groups, see Groups.
Sum Groups Select a sum group to assign the cell to. Sum groups add cell values into a total cell.
Cell Type The cell type.
Input Cell Allow the cell to accept input. Input cells are colored grey.
Query on Override Disable the override warning message when entering data into input cells. This menu option appears only if Input Cell is set.
Show Override Indicator Specify that a red dot is to appear to the right of any overridden input cell. This menu option appears only if Input Cell is set.
Cell Width Select the cell width. This is not available if a combination of numeric and description cells has been selected.
Underline Specify an underline type for the cell.
Flip Flip the sign: return a positive cell value as negative and a negative cell value as positive. Cell calculations will use this flipped value, not the original cell value. Available for numeric cells only.
Switch Sign Return a positive cell value as negative and a negative cell value as positive for display purposes only. Cell calculations will use the original cell value, not the value with the switched sign. Available for numeric cells only.
Currency/Unit Symbol A toggle option that controls whether to include a currency or unit symbol in the cell. If a checkmark appears next to this option, the symbol is included. Available for numeric cells only.
Zero As The text to use to represent zero values. Available for numeric cells only.
Positive As How positive values are to be displayed. Available for numeric cells only.
Negative As How negative values are to be displayed. Available for numeric cells only.
Capitalize Capitalize the text. Available for description cells and Do-It-Yourself heading cells only.
Paragraph Display an additional shortcut menu that enables you to edit the paragraph text contained in the cell.

For heading cells in tables, the Other shortcut menu provides a smaller set of options. If you select one or more heading cells, the following options appear:

Edit Cell (or Block Cell Edit) Display the CaseView Edit Cell dialog.
Select Font Display the Font dialog, in which you can select the font, font style, point size, and effects. This is not available if multiple cells have been selected.
Set Cell Group (or Block Set Cell Group) Select the group for this cell or block of cells. For more information on cell groups, see Groups.
Cell Width Select the cell width. This is not available if a combination of numeric and description cells has been selected.
Underline Specify an underline type for the cell.
Paragraph Display an additional shortcut menu that enables you to edit the paragraph text contained in the cell.

If you right-click elsewhere in a table and select Other, the following shortcut menu appears that enables you to perform operations on the table. Some of these options may be unavailable, depending on where you have right-clicked.

Cut Cut the selected cells.
Copy Copy the selected cells.
Paste Paste the selection at the current location.
Table Properties Display the CaseView Table Properties dialog.
Sort Table Rows Sort the rows of the table.
Merge Table Squares Merge the selected table squares into a single larger table square.
Unmerge Table Squares Unmerge the selected table square, converting it into its component subsquares.
Insert Row Insert a row into the table.
Insert Column Insert a column into the table.
Delete Row Delete the current table row.
Delete Column Delete the current table column.
Delete Table Delete the entire table.
Font Specify the font for the selected table elements.
Section Display the CaseView Section dialog.
Paragraph Display an additional shortcut menu that enables you to edit the paragraph text contained in the cell.
