Specifying table properties

In the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet, you can specify how an activity table is to be displayed.

Prerequisites

For information on creating activity tables in the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet, see Inserting or deleting activities.

To specify a table property, open the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet and select the Table Tools tab.

Specifying a title row

You can specify that a row in an activity table is to be a title row. .When a row is a title row, it no longer displays numeric cells, and a new style is applied to the description cell.

Procedure

  1. In the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet, click in the row that is to become a title row.
  2. Select the Title row check box.

Results

The selected row is now a title.

Printing zero rows

In an activity table, you can specify that rows with a zero balance are to be printed. By default, rows with a zero balance do not print.

Procedure

  1. Open the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet and select the Table Tools tab.
  2. In the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet, click in the row that you want to print even if it has a zero balance.
  3. Select the Zero line check box.

Results

The selected row will print even if its balance is zero.

Displaying the currency symbol

In an activity table, you can specify that a currency symbol is to be displayed for a row.

Note: The currency to use is specified in the Financial statements document. See Displaying currency symbols in tables for more information.

Procedure

  1. Open the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet and select the Table Tools tab.
  2. In the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet, click in the line for which the currency symbol is to be displayed.
  3. Select the Currency check box.

Results

The balances in the row are displayed with currency symbols.

Turning off printing

You can indicate that a row in an activity table is to never be printed. By default, rows with a balance will always print.

Procedure

  1. Open the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet and select the Table Tools tab.
  2. In the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet, click in the line that is not to be printed.
  3. Select the Never print check box.

Results

The selected row is not printed.

Specifying the grouping

The template author defines the default grouping/mapping for the cash flows worksheet and the financial statements. However, for an activity table, you can specify the mapping or grouping to use in the entire activity table or table row.

Procedure

  1. In the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet, select the Table Tools tab.
  2. Click in the activity table or row for which you want to specify the grouping.
  3. From the (Grouping) drop-down, select By section to define for the activity or By row for the row, and then select the mapping or grouping to use.

Results

The selected activity table or row now uses the selected grouping/mapping.

Editing the table

You can edit the properties of a table, including the column size and shading, column formatting, and borders.

Procedure

  1. Open the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet and select the Table Tools tab.
  2. In the Statement of Cash Flows Worksheet, click in the table that you want to edit.
  3. Click (Edit).
  4. Use the fields in the Table Column Properties dialog to edit the table.

Results

The table is updated to use the specified properties.
