Automatically Saving Files as Compressed

Procedure

On the Tools tab, in the Options group, click Options.
Change Auto Compress to:
- Yes - files are automatically compressed when closing.
- Prompt - requests user confirmation to save as compressed when closing.
- Yes (with subfolders) - files and subfolders are automatically compressed when closing.

Notes

Do not compress a client file with documents checked out as this can cause issues on check in.
Client files that have documents checked out using the check out function are not automatically compressed when saved.
If protection is turned on before the client file is compressed and saved, users will be required to log in to the client file before uncompressing.
