Automatically Saving Files as Compressed

  1. On the Tools tab, in the Options group, click Options.
  2. Change Auto Compress to:

    • Yes - files are automatically compressed when closing.
    • Prompt - requests user confirmation to save as compressed when closing.
    • Yes (with subfolders) - files and subfolders are automatically compressed when closing.

 

  • Do not compress a client file with documents checked out as this can cause issues on check in.
  • Client files that have documents checked out using the check out function are not automatically compressed when saved.
  • If protection is turned on before the client file is compressed and saved, users will be required to log in to the client file before uncompressing.
