Minimizing CaseView Conflicts

To minimize conflicts, Working Papers with SmartSync has a 'first come, first served' option that can be enabled in CaseView documents.

Prerequisites

Access to Design Mode.

Procedure

1. Open the CaseView document.
2. On the View tab, select Design Mode.
3. On the File tab, click Document Settings.
4. Select Client Options.
5. Select Lock SmartSync documents for exclusive use.
6. Click OK.

Results

Opening the CaseView document in sync copies in an online state files display a prompt notifying other users accessing the document that the file is in use, with the option to open the document in a read-only state.

Opening the CaseView document in sync copies in an offline state displays a prompt asking the user if the file should be opened normally or in a read-only state.
