Working Papers provides the ability to download new spell check dictionaries for different languages from the OpenOffice web site to be included in CaseView. If you also wish to use the hyphenation options for your language, you must also download the hyphenation file.
You must first ensure that a reference to the desired language exists in the Working Papers cwlang.xml file. In the Working Papers install folder, locate the file cwlang.xml and open with your text editor. Ensure that a reference to the desired language exists in this file. If it does not, you must add this language to the XML file. Follow the syntax of a language that already exists in this file.
-
Browse to the OpenOffice extension repository to download the dictionary for the language you wish to use.
Note: This file may have an .oxt extension but it is in ZIP format and can be uncompressed using commonly available archiving software.
- Unzip the file downloaded from OpenOffice extension repository into a separate directory and ensure that *.dic and *.aff files are present.
- Verify that a Dictionaries sub-folder exists by browsing to the folder where Working Papers is installed. If the Dictionaries sub-folder does not exist, create it.
-
Copy the *.dic and *.aff files from the uncompressed directory into the Working Papers Dictionaries directory.
Note: Ensure that the *.dic and *.aff files follow the file name conventions in your Working Papers cwlang.xml file.
- In CaseView, on the Tools tab, in the Utilities group, click Options | Spell Checking | Language.
-
Check that the dictionary you installed is listed in the Language drop-down list.
Note: There are cases where a dictionary is provided as an OpenOffice extension file *.oxt and not a .zip file. In this case, you must unzip these files using an archive program and place the *.dic and *.aff files in the Working Papers Dictionaries folder. Please ensure the *.dic and *.aff files follow the file name conventions in your Working Papers cwlang.xml file.
