Advanced PDF options

You can further customize your PDFs by modifying the Advanced Options. Access the PDF Advanced Options dialog by clicking Advanced... in the PDF settings.

Watermarks

Option Description
Use Watermarks

Select to add a watermark to the PDF.

Location

Select the location to display the watermark.

Simple text

Select to add text as a watermark.

  • Text box: Enter the text to display in the watermark.
  • Select Font: Click to modify the font and size.
  • Font color: Click the drop-down menu to change the font color.
  • Orientation: Enter the angle of the watermark in degrees (0-360).
  • Watermark position: Center the watermark, or specify the horizontal and vertical coordinates.
External PDF Document

Select to add an external PDF as a watermark.

Print watermark on first page only

Select to only add the watermark on the first page of the document.

Image compression

Option Description
Algorithm

Select the algorithm to use when compressing images from the drop-down menu.

  • Default compression: Images use Working Papers compression.
  • 256 color compression: Images use the 256 color (8-bit) color spectrum.
  • JPEG compression: Images use JPEG compression.
  • JPEG 2000 compression: Images use JPEG 2000 compression (superior to JPEG compression).
  • Automatic: Images use their default compression algorithm.
Image Quality

Adjust image quality for JPEG, JPEG 2000, and Automatic compression algorithms.

Remove duplicate images

Select to remove any duplicate images from the PDF.

Down sample high resolution images

Select to reduce the data size of high resolution images.

Disable direct PNG/JPEG printing

Select to disable direct PNG/JPEG printing in the PDF.

Bates numbering

Option Description
Use Bates Numbering

Select to add Bates Numbering to the PDF.

Page Begin

Set the starting point for Bates Numbering.

Page End

Set the end point for Bates Numbering.

Number Type

Sets the Bates Numbering format:

  • Number: Display Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3).
  • ROMAN NUMERALS: Display uppercase Roman numerals (I, II, III).
  • roman numerals: Display lowercase Roman numerals (i, ii, iii).
Position

Select the Bates Numbering position from the drop-down menu.

Color

Click the drop-down menu to change the number color.

Prefix

Enter a prefix for Bates Numbering (e.g. Adding 'A' would result in numbering of A1, A2, A3).
