Synchronization properties
You can view the status of each sync copy in a hierarchy from the Synchronization Properties dialog. Additional information, including the creator, creation date, synchronization status and completion status can also be found in the dialog.
To access the Synchronization Properties dialog, click the Synchronization Status icon on the Status bar, then click Properties.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Location |
Displays the file path of the parent file and associated sync copies. The sync status icon displays next to the file location. Sync copies must be online to update location and status information. |
User |
Displays the credentials of the user that created the sync copy. If this column reports Unknown User, it may be the result of a deleted or corrupt sync file. |
Date | Displays the last date and time that the sync copy synchronized with the parent file. |
Completed |
Displays the completion status for the sync copy (represented as a percentage). If this column reports 100%, then the sync copy is up-to-date; however, this percentage does not include pending changes from offline files. |
Change Location | Click to change the location of the parent file. For more information, see Manage the parent file. |
Repair |
Click to repair any synchronization errors for the parent or sync copy by reapplying all synchronized changes. For more information, see Repair a SmartSync file. |
Determine the sync status
You can view the current status of a sync copy from the Synchronization Properties dialog and the Synchronization Status icon in the Status bar. Each icon represents a different status.

|
The file is a parent file with sync information. |
Publishing
|
The file is being published to a SmartSync Server or Cloud. |
Online
|
The sync copy is connected to the parent file and is actively synchronizing new changes. |
Syncing
|
The sync copy is connected to the parent file and is currently synchronizing new changes to or from other sync copies. |
Online
|
The sync copy is connected to a another sync copy (not the peer parent) and is actively synchronizing new changes. |
Syncing
|
The sync copy is connected to another sync copy (not the peer parent) and is currently synchronizing new changes to or from other sync copies. |
Offline
|
The sync copy cannot access the parent file. Changes to the file are cached locally until a connection is established. |
