About the Knowledge Library Index
The Knowledge Library Index is the database used to control and manage Knowledge Library files and entries. Inside the Knowledge Library Index is a list of entries that have been imported into the Knowledge Library. We recommend that you import all Knowledge Library entries into a Knowledge Library Index to allow for easier administration.
The list displays the physical properties of each entry (e.g. name, file, section label), as well as custom properties that you can assign in the Knowledge Library Index. You can sort and manipulate these entries in various ways to make them easier to manage, such as through customized views that control the fields and the entries that display in the list. Template authors can then filter the entries further and repackage their selection for distribution to end-users.
Entry ownership
To access a Knowledge Library, your staff must sign in with their team username and password. This process allows all entries in the Knowledge Library Index to be associated with the team that created them. Only team members that have ownership over an entry can modify it, however, other staff can still append information such as a custom property.
Entry ownership also helps with version control, since you can easily identify which entries in the Knowledge Library were created by specific teams.
