Showing or Hiding Guidance

When you are viewing a financial statement area, you can specify options that control how the statement area is viewed.

When you are in a Firm Library document for a financial statement area, you can provide guidance for the end user. Guidance provides information or instructions to the user.

The end user must click the icon in the Home tab in the financial statements to see any guidance that has been added.

Prerequisites

To view the content for a financial statement area, you will need to have specified the content to be viewed. See Adding and organizing content for more details.

Procedure

  1. Open the Firm Library document for the area. See the section Accessing a financial statement area for details on how to do this.
  2. In the Firm Library document, from the Home tab, in the View group, click Show Guidance().
  3. In the guidance field that appears, type the guidance that you want to provide.

To hide the guidance, from the Home tab, in the View group, click Hide Guidance.

Results

The guidance for the financial statement area is displayed or hidden as selected.
