Settings for Reports

Enter default information to be used in presenting percent of sales, retained earnings and rounding on your reports.

Calculating % of sales (denominator)

Select account number for the denominator in the percentage of sales calculation on the Income Statement (For example, sales would be 100% and the expense accounts would each be a percentage of sales). You can use a prime posting account or a control account.

Opening retained earnings

Type or select the account number for opening retained earnings. During a year-end close, Working Papers automatically creates a closing entry by posting all Income Statement balances to retained earnings.

This account is also used when using the "period" option in analytical review, leadsheet, or trial balance automatic documents.

Click the Multiple button if retained earnings is to be distributed to more than one than one account. Enter the account numbers and applicable percentages for the distribution of retained earnings. Performing a year-end close will allocate the net income or loss to these accounts based on the percentages you input. Therefore the percentages must total 100%.

Select to apply automatic rounding relations to CaseView at the trial balance account level. When rounding is used, your financial statements will stay in balance and eliminates the need for the multiple rounding relations to be set up in CaseView. Available options include:

Specify the degree of rounding, that is, dollars, thousands, or millions. You can set rounding for both current year and prior year balances.

For balance calculations

In For balance calculations, select for which CaseView linkage calculation to use the rounding.

Important: Only linkage calculations matching the balance type specified (Consolidated, Report, Adjusted, etc.) are rounded. All other linkage calculations remain unchanged.

Include adjustments to

Selecting this option allows the inclusion of adjustments from maps/groups. When selected, adjustments to the chosen map/group are also rounded and included in the Rounding difference accounts. For Prior Years, you can choose to include the same map/group adjustments as selected for the Current Year.

Enter account numbers for any rounding differences to balance the Balance Sheet, the Income Statement, and the Statement of Cash Flow when viewing or printing the draft financial statement documents.

Balance sheet	Type or select the account number that will include any rounding differences for the draft Balance Sheet. To ensure proper rounding, the account number used must be included in the main Balance Sheet. It should not be an account number included in a schedule. Control accounts can be used as rounding accounts, but depending on the Report setup, might not give the appropriate result.
Income statement	Type or select the account number that will include any rounding differences for the draft Income Statement. To ensure proper rounding, the account number used must be included in the main Income Statement. It should not be an account number included in a schedule. Control accounts can be used as rounding accounts, but depending on the Report setup, might not give the appropriate result.
Statement of cash flow	Type or select the account number that will include any rounding differences for the draft Statement of Cash Flow. To ensure proper rounding, the account number used must be included in the main Statement of Cash Flow. It should not be an account number included in a schedule. Control accounts can be used as rounding accounts, but depending on the Report setup, might not give the appropriate result.
Foreign Exchange	Type or select the account number you want to use to record the gain or loss resulting from the foreign currency translation.
