Deleting Documents

A document or folder can be deleted by:

  • Selecting the document and on the Document tab, in the Edit group, clicking Delete.
  • Selecting the document and pressing the Delete key on the keyboard.
  • Selecting the document and pressing Ctrl + D on the keyboard.
  • Dragging the document to the Recycle Bin.
  • Cutting the document from the Document Manager and pasting in to the Recycle Bin.

 

  • Once a document is in the Recycle Bin, its document number can be reused on the Document Manager.
  • When deleting a CaseView document, all records in the CV database that are linked to the document are added to the Recycle Bin. Restoring the document restores the records.
  • All data related to the document is preserved while the document is in the Recycle Bin.
  • Deleting a folder deletes all documents in the folder, including those that are hidden.
  • To permanently delete a document in the Document Manager, press Shift+Delete.
  • Deleting a document in the Recycle Bin permanently deletes the document.
