Loading the Connector Excel add-in (XLL) as optional in Office 2013 and later when Excel runs in /automation -Embedding mode
Note: This topic is only applicable to Microsoft Office 2013 and later.
When using Connector with Microsoft Office 2013 and later, loading the Connector Excel add-in (XLL) can be made optional when Excel runs in /automation -Embedding mode. A registry entry was added to allow for this optional loading.
Procedure
- Navigate to Start | Run.
- In the Open field, type regedit.
- Click OK. The Registry Editor opens.
- In the left pane, select HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CaseWare International\CaseWare Connector\Settings.
- Right-click anywhere in the white space of the right pane and select New | DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Rename the new value to LoadXLLForAutomation.
- Right-click LoadXLLForAutomation and click Modify...
- In the Value data field, enter the value 1.
- Click OK.
- Close the Registry Editor.
Results
The registry settings ensure that the Connector add-in will not automatically load when Excel runs in /automation -Embedding mode.
