Perform a document integrity check

You can perform a document integrity check to determine if a document contains errors that can create problems with the file's functions, including:

  • Incorrectly named table cells
  • Table cells located outside their designated row or column
  • Tables and cells with duplicate names
  • Cells with names, settings or calculations linking to external data
  • Items using non-existent styles
  • Errors in roll-forward references
  • Cyclic calculations

The integrity check also reports warnings for general design problems that should be corrected.

Note: For a list of errors, see Document integrity error index.

To perform a document integrity check:

  1. Ensure you are working in Design Mode.
  2. On the ribbon, click Document | Settings.
  3. In the Document Settings dialog, click the General tab.
  4. Click Integrity Check....
  5. In the Integrity Check for Client dialog, select whether to extend the integrity check to all CaseView files, and/or library files. If you select to check library files, click Browse... to locate the folder to check. Click OK.

The results of the integrity check display. For a file-level check, errors are grouped by document. If Grouped by error types is selected, errors that occur in three or more instances display first. You can save the integrity check results by clicking Save in the dialog.

For each error, locate the problem in the affected document and make the necessary modifications. After correcting each error, perform another integrity check to ensure there are no more errors
