Importing from Microsoft Dynamics C5 Inventio - MSSQL
Requirements
- SQL Express or MS SQL Server installed locally on the machine performing the import.
- Backup file of MSSQL database
Prerequisites
- If Protection is activated, the File permission "Import" is required to perform this operation.
Procedure

Open the client file in which you want to import.

On the Engagement tab, in the Data group, click Import | Accounting Software.

In the Import From field, select Microsoft Dynamics C5 Inventio - MSSQL and in the Version field, select the version that you want to import.
Note: Click here to see all accounting software supported versions.

In the Import Path field, type or select the exact path where the MSSQL backup file resides or use Browse to locate the client directory manually.

Under Import Components, choose to import either:
- The Trial Balance (Opening Entries) or,
- The General Ledger Detail.

To import client information, click Import Client Information. This information will be displayed in the Engagement Properties dialog.
- Select Connect to active database to connect to the active database.

Connect to the SQL Server used with the accounting software that you are importing from. If you don't have this information, contact your database administrator.
- Server - The name of the SQL Database server.
- User/Password - The login and password used for the server.
Note: The Server field must be the name of the working instance for the C5 SQL.

- Click OK to begin importing.
Results
Accounting data is imported into the client file.
