Importing from Ufsoft version 8.2/8.5
This topic contains information about importing files from Ufsoft version 8.2/8.5 into CaseWare Working Papers. If you are importing from Version 8.11, see Importing from Ufsoft version 8.11.
Requirements
- Microsoft Windows SQL Server installed locally on the machine performing the import (if you do not have the Ufsoft application installed or have access to its database).

The file must have this name or the import will fail. You can obtain this file by launching Ufsoft 8.2/8.5 and performing a whole data back-up operation. For details on how to perform a data backup, see Ufsoft's online help.
Prerequisites
- If Protection is activated, the File permission "Import" is required to perform this operation.
Procedure

Open the client file in which you want to import.

On the Engagement tab, in the Data group, click Import | Accounting Software.

In the Import From field, select Ufsoft and in the Version field, select version 8.2/8.5.
Note: Click here to see all accounting software supported versions.

In the Import Path field, type the exact path where the file you want to import resides or use Browse to locate the file manually.

Under Import Components, choose to import either:
- The Trial Balance (Opening Entries) or,
- The General Ledger Detail.

To import client information, click Import Client Information. This information will be displayed in the Engagement Properties dialog.
- To import period balances, select the Period Balances check box.
- In the UfSoft Client ID field, enter the client ID.

Connect to the SQL Server used with the accounting software that you are importing from. If you don't have this information, contact your database administrator.
- Server - The name of the SQL Database server.
- User/Password - The login and password used for the server.
- Click OK to begin importing.
Results
Accounting data is imported into the client file.
