Creating Alphanumeric Cells
- In the Cell dialog, click the General tab, and under Cell type, select Alphanumeric. The Alphanumeric tab is added to the Cell dialog.
By default, values entered into an alphanumeric cell appear left-aligned. To change the position of text in the cell, click the Alignment tab and specify the position you want. You can format cell contents to appear on multiple lines. Clear the Fixed Width check box so that the width of the cell expands as data is entered.
Use the alphanumeric type when creating forms for completion in the Form Mode to limit the information permitted into the cell. For example, an alphanumeric cell with a type of Postal Code only accepts up to 10 digits in the format of a postal code. An error message appears if the User enters a value that does not correspond to a postal code.
