Creating Date Cells
You can create date cells that convert expressions or numeric values into a date format. The way a date displays in your document depends on the date format applied to the cell.
CaseView can display dates that correspond to the Regional Settings specified in the Control Panel on your computer.
CaseView stores all dates as Julian numbers. The number 0 corresponds to a date of March 1, 1900. On the other hand, the date December 31, 2007 is stored in Working Papers, Time, and CaseView as 39386.
- Position the insertion point where you want to create the cell.
-
On the Home tab, click Cell.
- Enter a unique cell number and click OK. Each cell number has a maximum length of 10 characters and must have an alphanumeric prefix. The rest of the cell number may be a combination of letters and numbers.
- In the Cell Type list, select Date.
- Under Properties, click Date.
- Select either a long or a short date format by choosing either Use Short Format (31/12/07) or Use Long Format (December 31, 2007). The Sample box displays how your selection appears in the document.
- If applicable, select the Use Regional Settings option to use a date style appropriate for the country specified in the settings of your computer. To specify a unique date style, clear the Use Regional Settings option, and enter a new date style in the Date Style box.
