Known issues

The following known issues affect the current version of Working Papers and related products.

  • Working Papers 2022 and above closes abruptly when trying to open a Cloud engagement file.

Workaround: See Known issue - Working Papers cannot open Cloud engagement files.

  • When importing a Caseware tax export into CCH Axcess Tax, the import process completes with errors. Some conversion codes fail to import, reporting that the record format is not supported.

Solution: CCH is working on a GL Bridge and GL Direct update that will resolve this issue in the near future.

  • Document links to external Microsoft Office files may incorrectly open files from other Working Papers engagements if they share the same document number.

Workaround: Downgrade your Office installation to version 2309 or older.

    1. Launch Command Prompt as an administrator (right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator).

    2. Run the following command: - cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\

    3. Run the command applicable to your Office channel (note that this issue does not currently affect Office semi-annual channels):

      Current Channel: OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.16827.20166

      Monthly Enterprise Channel: OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.16827.20324

  • Working Papers fails to convert parent files from version 2022 or earlier when a user downloads a child sync copy of the file from Caseware Cloud.

Workaround: Search for and download a child sync copy of the file using Working Papers 2023, rather than Caseware Cloud.

  • Users on a network license that cannot connect to their Network License Server do not see the 3-day "grace license" dialog upon launching Working Papers.

Workaround: The status of the network license and number of days remaining in the grace license can be viewed under File | Licensing.
