Requirements
- In Tally Accounting 9, use the standalone export utility (Export utility for Tally.ERP9) to create the following client data files:

- companyID represents the Company ID

Note: These client data files should be located in the same folder. This location is used as the Import Path.
Prerequisites
- If Protection is activated, the File permission "Import" is required to perform this operation.
Procedure

Open the client file in which you want to import.

On the Engagement tab, in the Data group, click Import | Accounting Software.

In the Import From field, select Tally Accounting (Export) and in the Version field, select the default version 9.
Note: Click here to see all accounting software supported versions.

In the Import Path field, type the exact path where the file you want to import resides or use Browse to locate the file manually.

Under Import Components, choose to import either:
- The Trial Balance (Opening Entries) or,
- The General Ledger Detail.

To import client information, click Import Client Information. This information will be displayed in the Engagement Properties dialog.

In the Select Client File field, select the client file.
By default, this field is populated with the first client data file from the specified import path but you can choose any other client file from the drop-down list. The Client name and Period from fields will display the corresponding information.
- In the Budget name field, enter the name of the budget to retrieve budget data.
- To import prior year data, select the Import prior year check box.
- Click OK to begin importing.
Results
Accounting data is imported into the client file.
