Link Conversion for Third-Party Documents

You can convert links from third-party applications to Connector links that are compatible with Working Papers. A conversion tool is available from Connector for replacing existing link formulas with their corresponding equivalents in Connector. Only Connector formulas can establish a link to the Working Papers database.

The conversion tool can recognize and convert links from the following applications:

The conversion tool is available from the Connector toolbar under Tools | Convert | Third Party Formulas.

Links cannot be converted when:

  • There is an error in the original formula.
  • There is no equivalent function in CaseWare.
  • The original formula contains a range (for example, J.J10:L.L90).

In these cases, the conversion tool returns an "Error: Unable to convert the formula". You must manually convert these links.

For links that reference a specific entity, the conversion tool will ignore this information and reference the default entity instead. The default entity is the current entity selected in Working Papers.

Working Papers does not support multiple top-level entities, in the presence of which the conversion tool returns an "Error: Cannot convert some third party formulas".
