Note number display preferences

The Note Number pane lists all of the display preferences available for note numbers in the Notes to the Financial Statements and Significant Accounting Policies. Three levels of note numbers are available: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. Different note numbering preferences can be specified for each level.

The note classification represented by Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 depends on the location of the note in the Knowledge Library:

Location of note in Knowledge Library Note numbering levels
In the Notes to the Financial Statements area Level 1 = topic
Level 2 = name
In the Significant Accounting Policies notes area Level 1 = area
Level 2 = topic
Level 3 = name

Note: If a Reporting by Directors firm library document is provided with your CaseWare template product, you can specify Level 2 and Level 3 note number levels for it.

The following note numbering options are available for each note level. (In each description, replace X with 1, 2, or 3, as needed. For example, for Level 1 notes, Level X note number type becomes Level 1 note number type.)
