Recycle Bin

The Recycle Bin is a temporary storage area for documents that have been deleted from the file. You can access the Recycle Bin view from View | Show | Recycle Bin.

When you delete a document, you can choose to send it to the Recycle Bin rather than delete it permanently. Documents in the Recycle Bin cannot be viewed, modified, or annotated unless they are restored. To permanently delete a document in the Recycle Bin, right-click the document and click Delete. To restore a deleted document in the Recycle Bin, right-click the document and click Restore.

Note: If you are using Working Papers with SmartSync, deleted documents are instead sent to the Windows Recycle Bin.

Recycle Bin History

You can track which documents have been deleted or restored in the Recycle Bin using the History option. History tracks the name of the user who deleted or restored the document, and the date and time it occurred.

To enable Recycle Bin history tracking:

  1. On the ribbon, click Engagement | History.
  2. In the Engagement History dialog, click the Settings tab.
  3. Under Category, check Recycle Bin. Click OK.

History tracking is enabled for the Recycle Bin. You can now view any changes to the Recycle Bin in the log on the History tab.
