Protected documents

Some Connector functions cannot be used when working in a protected Word or Excel document.

If...	Then...
A workbook's structure is protected	Unlinked formulas cannot be relinked.
A workbook or its structure is not protected, one of the worksheets is protected and some cells are locked	Unlocked cells will be unlinked, but can still be relinked.
A worksheet is protected but some cells are locked	Unlocked cells can be relinked.
A worksheet is protected	The Insert Comment command is disabled.
The document is set to Restrict Editing	Links cannot be edited unless the user has permission.
The document is set to Restrict Editing with some Exceptions	Links cannot be edited, even if the user has permission.
The document is set to Restrict Editing with Exceptions set to Everyone	Links can be edited.
