File tab
You can manage your CaseView document from the File tab.

Home tab
You can modify document content from the Home tab. The options in this tab change depending on your current editing mode.

Paste |
Paste copied content to the cursor location.

Cut the selected content from the document. |

Copy Formatting |
Copy only the style and formatting settings from the selected content. |
Editing |
Toggle between Form and Design Mode.

Lock or unlock the CaseView mode. |
Font |
Change the font. |
Font Size |
Change the font size. |
Bold |
Bold the selected text. |
Italics |
Italicize the selected text. |
Underline |
Underline the selected text. |
Bullets |
Insert a bulleted list. |
Numbering |
Insert a numbered list. |
Multilevel List |
Create a multi-level list. |
Paragraph |
Edit the paragraph properties. |
Alignment |
Align the selected content to the left, right, center or justified. |
Cell |
Create a cell or edit the cell properties. |

Zoom Level |
Select a percentage to increase or decrease the display size of the document. |
Zoom In/Out |
Increase or decrease the display size of the document in increments of 25%. |
Fit content to screen |
Resize content to fit between the left and right margin of the document window. |
Fit page to screen |
Resize the page to fit the document window. |
Full screen |
Resize the document to fit your monitor. |
View tab
You can update the layout of the CaseView window from the View tab. The options in this tab change depending on your current editing mode.

Form Mode |
Switch to Form Mode. Form Mode displays similar to a printed version of the document. |
Design Mode |
Switch to Design Mode. Design Mode allows you to edit all aspects of the document. |
Enable Editing |
Switch to Form Mode with editing enabled. This mode provides some editing functionality while in Form Mode. |
Document Map |
Open the Document Map to navigate through large documents. |
Goto |
Jump to a bookmark in the document. |
Skipped Text |
Select to display text that is marked with a skip condition. Clearing this option hides the skipped text. This option is only available in Form Mode. |
Style Window |
Select to display the Style window. The Style window displays to the left of the document and includes style names, section permissions, and areas that require input. This option is only available in Form Mode. |
Ruler |
Select to display the tab ruler. Tabs are used to control the horizontal placement of text in a document. This option is only available in Form Mode. |
Preferences |
Edit the display preferences for the current document. |
Zoom Level |
Select a percentage to increase or decrease the display size of the document. |
Zoom In/Out |
Increase or decrease the display size of the document in increments of 25%. |
Fit content to screen |
Resize content to fit between the left and right margin of the document window. |
Fit page to screen |
Resize the page to fit the document window. |
Full screen |
Resize the document to fit your monitor. |
New Window |
Open the current document in a new window. To use this option, you must first enable Multiple Document Windows under Tools | Options | Interface. |
Split/Unsplit Vertically |
Split the screen with a vertical line. Panes scroll together vertically but independently horizontal, allowing for an easier view of wide tables. Click Unsplit Vertically to restore the default screen view. |
Split/Unsplit Horizontally |
Split the screen with a horizontal line. Panes scroll together horizontally but independently vertical, allowing for simultaneous work in two locations in the document. Click Unsplit Horizontally to restore the default screen view. |
Synchronize Split of Freeze |
Select to share the split properties with the Freeze pane and main body of the document. This option is only available in Form Mode. |
Issues |
Display a list of issues in the current document.

Insert tab
You can add various objects to your document from the Insert tab. This tab is only available in Design Mode.

Create a table or edit the table properties.

Insert an image at the cursor location. |
Graph |
Create a chart or graph at the cursor location. |
Line Style |
Insert a horizontal line across the page. |

Insert a link at the cursor location. |
Text From File | Insert text from an ASCII text file at the cursor location. |
Audit Tests |
Insert audit tests from the installed IDEA SmartAnalyzer workflows. |
Page Break |
Insert a page break at the cursor location. |
Column Break |
Insert a column break at the cursor location. |
Non-Breaking Hyphen |
Insert a non-breaking hyphen at the cursor location. Use a non-breaking hyphen to prevent a hyphenated word or phrase from breaking at the end of a line. For example, to keep the word not-for-profit on the same line, use non-breaking hyphens. |
Optional Hyphen |
Insert an optional hyphen at the cursor location. Use an optional hyphen to determine where to break a word if it is wrapping to the next line. If subsequent changes make the hyphen unnecessary, the hyphen will not display in the final document. |
New Link |
Insert a link to Knowledge Library content. |
New Link From Index |
Insert a link to Knowledge Library content from the Knowledge Library Index. |
Page Number |
Insert or edit page numbers. |
Note Number |
Insert or edit note numbers from the numbering pool. |
Page Number Reference |
Insert a page number reference to a paragraph label. |
Note Number Reference |
Insert a note number reference to an existing note. |
Table of Contents |
Create and configure a table of contents for the document. |
Sub Document |
Insert and embed a sub-document in the document. |
External Document |
Insert and embed an external document, such as a PDF, Word or Excel file. External documents will be printed along with the CaseView document. |
Object |
Insert and embed miscellaneous objects, such as a spreadsheet or audio file. |
Document tab
You can modify document specific settings from the Document tab. The options in this tab change depending on your current editing mode.

Edit the document settings for the current document. |
Lock |
Lock an area of the document. You must enter a password to complete the lock.

Compare |
Compare the document to another file or information linked from a knowledge library to its source. |
Spelling |
Check for spelling errors in the current document. |
Hyphenation |
Insert a hyphenation suggestion. |
Note Number Styles |
Create or edit styles for note number pools. |
Tabs |
Create or edit tab stops. |
Conditional Formatting |
Create or edit conditional formatting rules for cells that meet specific criteria.

Modify |
Create or edit headers and footers in the current document. |
Attach |
Attach a header and/or footer to the current page. |
Update |
Update all knowledge library links in the current document with current library content. |
Remove |
Remove any outdated or unused knowledge library links in the current document. |
Cell Value Flags |
Revert overridden cells to their original values or clear the value change flags (underlined in red) from view.
This option is only available in Form Mode. |
Currency/Unit Symbol |
Toggle the currency/unit symbol for the selected cells. |
Summation |
Calculate the sum of the selected numeric cells. You can paste the calculated total into another cell in the document. |

Edit global cell options. |
Cell Groups |
Edit cell group properties that have been made modifiable in Form Mode. |
Cell Group drop-down menu |
Change the group for the current cell selection |
Tools tab
You can sort, link and organize your document from the Tools tab. The options in this tab change depending on your current editing mode.

Recalculate |
Recalculate all cells and related objects in the document. |
Auto Recalculate |
Toggle whether to automatically recalculate cells and related objects when they are modified. |
Auto Paginate |
Toggle whether to automatically insert page breaks throughout the document. |
Rounding |
Form Mode: Toggle rounding in the document. Design Mode: Create or edit rounding and rounding relation settings. |
Rounding Relations |
Toggle rounding relations in the document. This option is only available in Form Mode and if Allow Enabling and Disabling of Rounding Relations in Form Mode is selected in the Rounding dialog (Design Mode). |
Sort |
Form Mode: Sort a section of the document by ascending, descending, or a manual order. Design Mode: Sort document components, including:

Linkage |
Link data from the accounting database to a cell in CaseView. |
Tool |
View and edit calculations for cells connected to the selected cell. |
Organizer |
View and edit calculations in the current document. |
Images |
Manage images stored in the document. |
Repository |
Access the CaseView repository.

Create or edit user defined data in the current document. |

Global Font Change |
