Comparing Sections or Documents Using Events

  1. Create a cell or double-click a cell to open the Edit Cell dialog.
  2. Click Events.
  3. If applicable, click Show Expand to display a magnifying glass icon each time the User's cursor is placed over the cell.
  4. Click Add.
  5. In the Action box, select either Compare Section or Compare Document.
  6. In the Filename box, enter the path and name of the file you want to compare in quotations. This box can also be evaluated as an expression.
  7. If comparing sections, enter the label of the section you want to compare in the Entry Name box. The name can also be selected from the dropdown list.
  8. In the Comparison Type box, select the type of document you want to compare. This affects the comparison criteria as explained in About Comparison and Revision.
  9. If comparing documents, to compare only those sections with the same label, select "Yes" in the Common (Y/N) box. Select "No" to compare the entire document.
  10. In the Ignore Hidden box, specify how you want the comparison to treat text that is not visible in the Form Mode.
  11. Click OK.
  • Section labels are case-sensitive and must be entered in quotations.
