Version Information tab - Document Settings dialog

The dialog lists information about the current version of the document. Use this command to copy, reset or increment the version numbers when performing actions such as copying templates or carrying out a roll forward.

When a document is first created from scratch it has a version number of 1.00. The minor version number increments by 0.01 each time the document is saved.

Select the way you want the version number to appear in a new file after a copy template.

Copy version number

Select this option to retain the same version number in the newly copied document.

Reset version number to 1.00

Select this option if you want the version number in the newly copied document to be 1.00. Each time the document is saved, the version number increments by 0.01.

Increment major version part and reset minor version part

Select this option to increment the major version number and reset the minor version number to zero. For example, if the version number in the current document is 1.09 and a copy template is performed, the newly created document will have a version number of 2.00.

Select the way you want the version number to appear after a year-end close.

Copy version number

Select this option to retain the same version number after a year-end close.

Reset version number to 1.00

Select this option if you want the version number to appear as 1.00 in next year’s file.

Increment major version part and reset minor version part

Select this option to increment the major version number and reset the minor version number to zero. For example, if the version number in the current document is 1.09 and a year-end close is performed, the new year’s document will have a version number of 2.00.
