Export to ASCII command

Use this command to export a CaseView document as ASCII text.

File Name

Type or select the path and name of the document to which you want to export the CaseView document. Click Browse to locate the folder for the file manually.

File Type

Select the format for the exported file from the drop-down list.

ASCII Text

Select this option to export to an ASCII text file.

ASCII Text/ Linebreaks

Select this option to export to an ASCII text file with line breaks. This option is useful when exporting to a text editor, as text does not wrap text automatically in this format. Each line of automatically wrapped text will be separated by a paragraph mark in the exported application. When exporting to text editors, ASCII text with line breaks maintains the layout of the document.

Ignore Skip Conditions

If selected, the export ignores skip conditions when exporting the CaseView document, and even those rows or sections marked as skipped are exported and display in the resulting ASCII or RTF document.

Range

Choose between exporting the entire CaseView document or only a portion.

All

To export the entire document, select All.

Selection

Exports a part of the document in the format you specify. Drag the pointer to select the portion of the document you want to export.
