Cell Group command

Defines or modifies formatting for a cell group. Select the check box beside the properties to be governed by the Cell Group. Cells assigned to the cell group automatically inherit those properties. Select the Modifiable in Form option for each property to which changes should be allowed in CaseView's Form mode.

Select the name of the cell group to modify. In Design Mode, the Display Name displays below the Group Label as the "Display label" for reference purposes. In Form Mode, the only Label that displays is the Display Name.

Design only

Prevents changes to this cell group in Form Mode. If selected, the cell group does not show in the Cell Group Edit dialog in the Form Mode or Form Mode with editing enabled. In addition, if no editable cell groups exist in a document, Cell Group command on the Document tab in the Form Mode is disabled.

Sets a group cell width for each cell belonging to the group. When modifying cell properties individually, cell width will be unavailable for all cells attached to the current cell group. To permit modification of cell width for individual cells, clear this option or remove the cells from the current cell group.

Modifiable in Form

Specifies that the cell width attribute is modifiable in the Form Mode.

Applies a shade pattern globally to all cells assigned to the cell group. When modifying cell properties individually, Shade Type will be unavailable for all cells attached to the current cell group. To permit modification of the Shade Type for individual cells, clear this option or remove the cells from the current cell group.

Modifiable in Form

Specifies that the shade pattern attribute is modifiable in the Form Mode.

Applies a shade color globally to all cells belonging to the cell group. When modifying cell properties individually, Shade Color will be unavailable for all numeric cells attached to the current cell group. To permit modification of shade color for individual cells, clear the Enable check box or remove the cells from the current cell group.

Modifiable in Form

Specifies that the Shade Color attribute is modifiable in the Form Mode.

Allows all numeric cells assigned to the cell group to have a Floating Underline. When modifying cell properties individually, Accept Floating Underline will be unavailable for all cells assigned to the current cell group. To permit modification of floating underlines for individual cells, clear this option or remove the cells from the current cell group.

Modifiable in Form

Specifies that the Accept Floating Underline attribute is modifiable in the Form Mode.

Accept

Accepts a floating underline in all numeric cells assigned to the cell group.

Accepts a floating currency sign globally for all numeric cells assigned to the cell group. When modifying cell properties individually, Accept Floating Currency will be unavailable for all numeric cells assigned to the current cell group. To permit modification of floating currency signs for individual cells, clear this option or remove the cells from the current cell group.

Modifiable in Form

Specifies that the Floating Currency Symbol attribute is modifiable in the Form Mode.

Accept

Accepts a floating currency sign in all numeric cells assigned to the cell group.

Displays digits to the right of the decimal point in all numeric cells assigned to the cell group. Enter the number of decimal places in the box provided (CaseView supports up to 8 decimal places). When modifying numeric cell properties individually, Decimal Points will be unavailable for all cells assigned to the current cell group. To permit modification of decimal places for individual cells, clear this option or remove the cells from the current cell group.

Modifiable in Form

Specifies that the Decimal Points attribute is modifiable in the Form Mode.

Applies digit grouping symbol in large currency values in all cells assigned to the cell group. When modifying numeric cell properties individually, Digit Grouping Symbol will be unavailable for all cells assigned to the current cell group. To modify this property individually, clear this option or remove the cell from the current cell group.

Modifiable in Form

Specifies that the user in the Form Mode can apply or remove the digit-grouping symbol in all cells assigned to the cell group.

Symbol

Separates digits with large currency values by the grouping symbol (e.g., comma) specified in the Regional Settings in the Control Panel.

Sets the tab position for the cell group. When modifying group tabs, every paragraph employing the group tab position, will automatically acquire the alignment or position attributes. To modify a group tab position without affecting each paragraph using the group tab, clear this option or remove the group tab attribute from the line.

Modifiable in Form

Specifies that the group tab attribute is modifiable in the Form Mode. Group tabs facilitate column positioning in the Form Mode. By displaying the ruler, drag the group tab marker to the desired location on the ruler. All paragraphs employing the group tab will acquire the new positioning.

Display Only

Skips a column of cells when printing. All paragraphs employing the group tab stop, will acquire the display only attribute. Text or cells attached to the group tab stop will skip when printed if this option is selected.

Position

Type or select a tab position.

Justification

Select the alignment of the group tab stop.

Left

Extends text to the right of the tab stop.

Center

Centers text at the tab stop.

Right

Extends text to the left of the tab stop. If text fills the space to the left of the tab stop, the text often extends to the right.

Sets the capitalization of calculations for the cell group. When modifying cell properties individually, capitalization will be unavailable for all alphanumeric cells attached to the current cell group. To permit modification of captitalization for individual cells, clear this option or remove the cells from the current cell group.

Modifiable in Form

Specifies that the capitalization is modifiable in the Form Mode.

Normal

Sets format to allow a mix of upper case and lower case.

Upper

Sets format as all uppercase.

Lower

Sets format as all lowercase.

Title

Capitalizes the first letter of each word

Displays the cells in the cell group as on-screen only. The cell will not appear in the printed document. When modifying cell properties individually, Display Only will be unavailable for all cells assigned to the current cell group. To display or hide a cell individually, clear this option or remove the cell from the current cell group.

Modifiable in Form

Specifies that the user in the Form Mode can display or hide cells belonging to the cell group.

Creates a new cell group. The New Group dialog will launch.

Saves the selected cell group under a new name. This will launch the Rename Group dialog.

Click to delete the selected cell group. If the group currently has cells assigned, the Delete Group dialog will launch.

Click to load an existing Cell Group File in the active document. The Load Cell Group File dialog will appear.

Click to save the current Cell Groups in a new Cell Group File. Cell group files can be attached to any CaseView document.
