Note Number Styles command

Use this dialog to create and modify styles of note numbering pools. Using styles, changes such as moving from a period to a close bracket following the number can be made to all related note numbers at once.

Select the name of the style you want to change. Note that this field will not be visible if the dialog was launched from an event where the Note Number Style was already specified.

Note number styles can be saved as .NSY files which are shared between CaseView documents. This will launch the Note Number Style Sheet Load dialog.

The name of the currently selected note number style to be modified.

Level

Notes can be further broken down as sub-note numbers up to 10 levels deep. Select the level to be modified.

Format

Select if the note numbering style should be numeric, alphanumeric, or roman numeral.

Before/End

Add text or symbols to be included before or after the number. Place entered symbols or text in double-quotes.

Use brackets

Add brackets before and after the number.

Show this level only

For sub-levels, show only the sub-note number itself (1, 2, 3) as opposed to both the parent and sub (1.1, 1.2, 1.3).

Skip Note Numbers at this level

Select to prevent note numbers at this level from appearing on the printed document.

Skip following tab if skipped

If the note number is immediately followed by a tab, this option allows for the tab to be automatically skipped in the event the number itself is skipped to keep spacing consistent.

Allow Wrapping

Should the note number and its preceding and subsequent text or symbols be wide enough to reach the end of a the line, this option allows or prevents the number from wrapping to the next line.

Flush

Toggle period separators between numbers shown as both parent and sub.

A preview window to ensure the configuration matches the intended results.
