Open command

Use this command if you wish to open or load a file stored in another folder or drive. The Windows Open file dialog appears. This command is useful when you can't remember the exact path to the file you wish to open.

Select the drive and folder in which the file you want to open is stored.

A listing of the existing documents in the selected folder appears below. The files shown are restricted to those of the file format specified in the Files of type box.

Select or type the name of the client file you want to open. A default type is selected in the Files of type box. To see a list of files of another file format, type an asterisk (*), a period, the extension, and then press ENTER.

Depending on what you are trying to open or load, CaseView selects a default format for the file. Use the drop-down list to select a different file format. As you select different formats the files shown in the folder listing will change.

If selected, the folder listing displays all files in the current folder. Use this selection to view other file formats available.
